Bio: Kathleen began her illustrious career as a multisporter at the tender age of 8 when she moved to a small town in Massachusetts and hung with the neighborhood boys---climbing trees and playing such games as kick the can, football, baseball, basketball, street hockey, etc.

Soon after, she discovered soccer and spent most of her tender years streaking down the sideline, crossing passes to the center players. In the off season, she could be found mixing it up running the 2 mile and skiing Super GS while taking the widest possible line ‘round the gates. Biking was always in the picture for Kathleen; it was a happy day in the spring of ’81 when her hands were finally large enough to reach the brakes of her very own bright blue Schwinn Varsity 10-speed---one she’d been pining over for the past year.

Later in life, Kathleen was still dabbling in soccer/running/skiing, and decided on a whim to train for the 2000 St. George marathon with the intention of qualifying for Boston. She finished, however, not as quickly as planned and became the poster child of how NOT to train for a marathon---and has the pictures to prove it. She tried again after a hiatus, and with the proper training, took a foot tour through the streets of London along with 4 rhinos and a superman and 36K of her closest compadres in April of 2005 to successfully complete her 2nd marathon.

In 2006, she decided to overcome her challenges with water and try her hand at triathlons. Never one to start too small, Kathleen signed up for the Lavaman in Kona. She proceeded to learn to swim rather than float and flail. She learned to endure riding in the rain, and… when she upgraded her MTB to a new road bike, she realized how much she loved and missed road biking. After completing Lavaman, Kathleen promptly started checking out the road racing scene and is happily a fourth-year member of the squad.

Her accomplishments for 2007 were: doing some serious damage at Lavaman once again, crushing souls at the Victoria Half-Iron, trying the various factions of racing, and learning her love of the sprint!

During 2008 and 2009 Kathleen focused on crits and cross, sticking with the pack for an entire race, and the elusive holy grail of CX: gleaning how to make knobby tires stick in the most varied of surfaces!

2010 proves to be the best year yet... stay tuned.
